Happy Holidays!

We finally took our Christmas picture! It was much more difficult with a dog and a baby!

Santa Claus

On Sunday Jackson had the opportunity to meet Santa (our good friend Dick VanDorp). He was fascinated with his beard and tried to grab his hat off. We also had our family picture taken. We struggle finding pictures with each family member having their eyes open!

Christmas pictures?

We tried to take a Christmas picture but Jackson was more interested in trying to eat the presents! And of course as soon as we gave up trying to get a picture he was all smiles.

Basketball Practice

Jackson wants to be just like his dad and play basketball with the Wightman Jones team. He was practicing his ball handling skills over the weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Jackson enjoyed his first Thanksgiving. He started out at Aunt Diane's with all of the Dozeman's. Then we headed over to celebrate with the Hansen's and the Ford's. Lots of food to eat and lots of fun! Jackson was ready for bed that night since he hardly slept at all during the day - he didn't want to miss any of the fun.

A future Detroit Lion?

Could he be the next famous Hansen on the Lions?

Even more VanderZwaags!

On Saturday we got together to celebrate Christmas with the VanderZwaags before our cousin Kevin left for Iraq. Last year at the Christmas party 8 of us were pregnant! This year as far as we know, nobody is pregnant but wherever you looked you saw a new addition to the family. What a blessing to see all those new babies.

A belated shower for Jackson

Jackson actually attended a baby shower for himself on Sunday! Our family friends, the VanDorps, threw a shower for Jackson. The last time Jackson hung out with the VanDorps was when he was 4 days old so it was definitely more fun this time! Thanks for a great time and all the presents guys!

Happy Halloween!

We dressed Jackson up like a pirate. His friends Collin and Dylan were also pirates so we had to get their picture. My mom made the costume and even bought him a sword to go with it. She was sad that she had to miss him because she's in Florida. We made quite a few stops and even stopped to see our friend Doug Barense, a pirate fanatic. He greeted us with his eye patch on.

First time with solids!

On Monday Jackson has his 4 month check up. We were thrilled to hear that he now weighs 13 pounds 13 ounces. That raised him up to the 30th percentile for weight! YEAH! Everything else looked great. Jackson smiled big for all the nurses and didn't cry until he received his shots. We also got the okay to start him on his solids so we did our first feeding of rice cereal last night. Jackson seemed to like it but was unsure of what it was at first.

Fall Pictures

On Sunday we took Jackson outside in the leaves to play. At first he wasn't so sure but he loved being outside with the wind on his face.

What a crazy sleeper!

I don't think that I could get enough pictures of Jackson sleeping! Every night we're amazed at how peaceful he looks but we can't get over how those arms are always straight out.

Jackson loves to play!

Jackson is really starting to love playing. His attention span now is much longer (thank goodness!). He enjoys making faces at his "friend" in the mirror. He's also starting to really love watching his cousin Cohen play when they're together. On Sunday we were over at my parents with Cohen and had fun watching the two of them together. We can't wait until they can really cause trouble together!

A busy weekend

Jackson had his friend Miya Westra come over on Friday night while her parents went to the Hamilton football game. Jackson had fun watching Miya play with all of the toys. On Saturday we went to the Pax Family Apple Squeeze. Jackson got plenty of love from the Blue Star moms that were there. Then we headed off to our neighborhood picnic. It was a bit chilly but Jackson did really well. October sure is our birthday month though - Sunday we went to Kalamazoo to visit Jackson's Aunt Sara. Last week Sunday was her 22nd birthday but we couldn't make it then so we celebrated a week late. Jackson got plenty of kisses from his Aunt Sara! We also introduced Jackson to a new toy this weekend - his exersaucer! He's a bit tiny yet so he rocks back and forth but he's exploring all the toys on it and likes to jump around.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We celebrated Luke's 28th birthday on Thursday. Jackson decided that we should go out to eat so we ate at Red Robin (which Jackson loved because of the noise and the many things to look at). Then we came home and Luke turned the corn stove on - if you don't know Luke, that is his fun during the winter because we can "watch " the fire inside.

A Weekend with Cousins

This weekend Jackson got to visit with his cousins. Cohen came over on Saturday night and enjoyed playing with Jackson's toys. On Sunday we got together with the Hansen's. We'll still have to get a picture of him with his cousin Lauryn though.

A Walk in the Woods

Luke took us for a walk to his deer blind on Sunday. Jackson loved being outside and did a great job riding in his infant carrier.

3 Month Pictures

On Saturday, Jackson had his pictures taken at Sears. He did a great job smiling when we changed outfits but didn't want to smile when he needed to! We couldn't resist a picture with a basketball - I see it in his future!

Jackson visits Blue Star

My class was anxious to meet Jackson so he came to visit at the end of the day on Wednesday. Everyone wanted a chance to hold him.

Our First Blog - Jackson is 3 months old!

Jackson and I played dress up as we tried to pick out clothes for his 3 month pictures. I can't believe he's that old already!
