Happy 1st Birthday Jackson!

Thursday was Jackson's first birthday. We celebrated that night with family and friends and I think that having all those people over was present enough for Jackson! He LOVED seeing everyone! We sang Happy Birthday all day long but Jackson's favorite version was by Aunt Diane who called and left a message on the answering machine so we listened to that MANY times - Jackson would clap as she sang. When we gave him his cake, he was hesitant at first but then devoured it (much to my dismay... I was hoping that I'd have to help him eat it!). Our precious little boy is now one and we thank God everyday for the joy he's brought into our lives.

The Yellow Life Jacket

Last night we went for a boat ride with Luke's parents. Jackson seemed to enjoy it UNTIL he had to put on a life jacket. He basically screamed the entire way because he couldn't move in the life jacket. Afterwards we went for ice cream and he was definitely much happier. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for taking us out there!

Happy Birthday Grandma Hansen!

Friday was Diane's birthday so we headed out to Uccellos in Wayland to celebrate her birthday. We even managed to embarrass her when the servers came out to sing to her! Afterwards we went back to Sandy Pines and let Lauryn and Jackson play around. Lauryn amazed us with her awesome throwing arm! The boys even allowed us to take a picture of them with their mom.

Watching the big boys...

Jon, Grace and Eric came over Sunday night to see us. They were all up in Michigan for the week and saved some time to see us. Of course Eric and Jon came with a bat and ball so they went outside with Luke to play baseball and then some bocce ball. Jackson was jealous that he couldn't play with them this time! We put him to bed before they left but when Jackson woke up Monday morning he couldn't figure out where all his new friends had gone!

Just Hanging Out...

Summer has officially begun for Jackson and I. Friday was my first day off with him and we were able to go outside and play. Jackson played with his cozy coupe for quite awhile and we even filled up his little pool but then the storm clouds started rolling in so we headed inside.

On Saturday, Neal and Rachel came over with Morgan. It's crazy to think that last summer at this time we were all anxiously awaiting the arrival of Jackson and Morgan.

MSU Girls

On Saturday, I got together with the "Hubbard Hall" girls from MSU. We all lived on 10 North Hubbard Hall for my first two years of college and then moved into an apartment by each other. Of course all of us have moved apart but Erin still lives in Lansing, which is a great midpoint for all of us to meet. We met up to watch the Sex and the City movie and then had dinner at Bravo's (YUMMM!). It was so great catching up. The best part was watching reactions when Missy told them that she's having TWINS!

oops...

I have been meaning to blog but with the last week of school it's been CrAzY! Anyways, last week Tuesday, Jackson took a tumble out of a little wagon onto the cement. Ouch! It looked worse than it was but he had some nasty scabs for a few days. Thankfully it looks better now and I'm sure we'll have much worse in the future.
